As the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, my job is to connect our mission with the community through stories that feel real and meaningful. One story that really stands out is the rescue of nearly 40 Chihuahua-mixed dogs, a story that was picked up by four media outlets.

I crafted a press release that highlighted how the support of our community directly enables us to rescue dogs in need. When the media picked up the story, it not only brought attention to the importance of spaying and neutering, but also highlighted the critical services we offer, the need for adopters, and the ongoing need for donations. The strong media coverage helped us adopt out all of these dogs in just a few weeks, showing the power of community support in making a real difference.

Through this story, we were able to connect with people, build trust, and show the impact of the work we do every day.
